Making the insurance switch

For many the best and easiest time to switch insurance policies is at renewal. Changing insurer at this time could save you cancellation fees, any administration fees attaching to renewal and, if the price is right, a reduction in the price of your insurance. At least seven days before your renewal date, you should test the market.

If you proceed to switch insurers, make sure your switch is a clean one and be careful to coordinate the dates between termination of your old policy and the activation of your new one. Any gap in cover will leave you un-insured.

So always remember to shop around as switching policies is at your discretion and down to you.

The limited number of providers in the HM Forces market makes comparing products effortless, but be sure of what you would like to achieve, such as:

  • A premium reduction with increased benefits – significant savings are out there
  • Improved service
  • A provider that does not charge fees
  • A premium reduction with same benefits – significant savings are out there
